Border Security Alliance Statement Regarding San Ysidro Port of Entry Closure

PHOENIX, AZ - Border Security Alliance Chairman Jonathan Lines issued the following statement regarding the closure of the Pedestrian West Crossing at the San Ysidro Port of Entry and the surge of migrants crossing into Arizona:

"The announcement today from CBP to suspend operations at the Pedestrian West Crossing at San Ysidro is another glaring example of how the Biden Administration has lost control over the Southern Border. For years, border communities have asked the federal government to increase resources and personnel along the border but no action has occurred. Now, legal and lawful trade is being impacted with two port of entry closures during the busy holiday season in order to prioritize processing illegal migrants.

"The lack of leadership from the Biden Administration is embarrassing. We call on the President to take immediate action to send additional staffing to the border to allow lawful commerce to continue and manage the surge of migrants crossing the border."
