Border Security Alliance Statement Regarding Bipartisan Border Security Bill
PHOENIX, AZ - Border Security Alliance President Jobe Dickinson issued the following statement regarding the bipartisan border security bill led by Senator Sinema:
"Each year, our leaders in Washington D.C. visit the southern border, hold Congressional hearings, and talk about the need to regain operational control of the border, yet fail to pass legislation to address the problems due to partisan politics. The current trajectory is unsustainable, and something must be done to give the men and women serving in Border Patrol the resources they need to do their jobs and keep our communities safe. A lack of manpower and resources has allowed criminals and smugglers to capitalize on our failures by crossing the border easily without consequence.
"We applaud Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema for leading the bipartisan effort to keep the border crisis top of mind and at the forefront of negotiations. While neither political party is getting everything they want, this bill appears to be a fair compromise that gives Customs and Border Protection the policy changes and resources they need to secure our border. The status quo is unacceptable; the time to act is now."
