New BSA TV Ad: Biden Menthol Ban Will Enrich Cartels and Terrorist Organizations
PHOENIX, AZ - The Border Security Alliance launched a second television ad this week exposing the dangerous impacts of President Biden’s menthol cigarette ban which is on the verge of approval. The ad entitled “Cartels and Destabilization” highlights the millions of counterfeit cigarettes that currently pour across the border everyday which will only increase after a ban is implemented. The ad is airing nationwide on cable TV and digital.
"President Biden’s failed border policies have made the cartels more powerful than ever and the proposed menthol ban is a national security threat,” said Jobe Dickinson, President of the Border Security Alliance. “It’s well known that illicit tobacco sales already fund terrorism. Hezbollah expanded beyond drugs and into illicit tobacco due to the high profit and low risk. Hamas has also used illicit tobacco smuggling in the U.S. to fund terrorism. At a time when we should be cutting off revenue sources for the cartels and terrorist organizations, another bad policy decision by this Administration will only make them richer."
The Biden-Harris administration’s plan to ban
menthol cigarettes is on the verge of approval.
But with a crisis at the border and conflict around
the world, this new prohibition poses a grave
threat to our security.
Millions of counterfeit cigarettes pour across the
border everyday. And authorities in Mexico warn
the ban will add fuel to the fire.
This misguided policy would enrich cartels and
terror groups like Hezbollah. We cannot afford to
jeopardize our national security.
Tell President Biden to stop the menthol ban.
