Statement Regarding FY2024 CBP Encounters
Phoenix, AZ- Border Security Alliance President Jobe Dickinson released the following statement regarding the Fiscal Year 2024 CBP encounters:
“Although the newly released fiscal year 2024 numbers have shown a decline in border encounters since the Biden Harris Administration executive actions in June, our border patrol agents continue to be poorly resourced for the high level of activity still occurring along the border. Years of inaction and ignoring the growing issues along the Southern Border by the Biden Harris Administration have created the situation we are in today. Even though monthly encounters may be declining, our border communities and law enforcement officers are still negatively impacted by the sheer volume of people and criminal activity coming across the border. Ending the year with 2.1 million encounters along the Southern Border is nothing to celebrate. We must continue to implement policies and provide additional resources to border patrol so they can do their jobs effectively and border communities can be alleviated of the additional stress that has been placed on their local resources.”
